Neogel A400TV-F-9113 is an ISO-NPG non-halogen flame retardant gelcoat formulated for the markets of boats, petrol stations, building industry, and transport. As a recommended international brand product sourced through our supply chain resource network, Neogel A400TV-F-9113 combines excellent flame-retardancy with low smoke density, good weather ability, and semigloss finish, making it a practical specification choice for buyers who need fire-performance data alongside standard gelcoat properties.
Benefits
This grade has excellent flame-retardancy, low smoke density, good weather ability and mechanical properties, as well as semigloss finish.
Application Characteristics
It is pre-accelerated thixotropic, ready for use and available in a wide range of colours, in the following types:
• Spray type (Neogel A400TV-F-9113)
• Brush type (Neogel A400TV-F-9113 H)
The Spray type can be applied with conventional equipment using these recommended settings: hand spray gun nozzle φ 2.5-4.0 mm, pressure 7-8 bars. The brush or roller types can be applied according to the following schedule: two coats, leaving the first coat to cure completely (2 hrs at 20°C). For optimum performance, operate at a temperature between 18°C and 25°C, cure with recommended MEKP* 50% solution at 1.0-2.5%, and apply a film thickness of 600-800g/m². *Butanox M-50 (Nouryon) is commonly referenced as a compatible catalyst.

Per DIN 5510, Part 2 (Draft), with the FRP combined with Palatal S320T-954AT, Neogel A400TV-F-9113 achieves an Inflammability class of S4, a Smoke Development Class of SR2, and a Class of the capacity of forming drops of ST2, giving buyers fire-performance reference data for transport and building specifications.
Packaging, Storage and Handling Conditions
This gelcoat is available in about 25 kg packaging. It should be stored in the original closed packaging at a temperature not exceeding 20°C, out of direct sunlight, and away from direct heat sources. Under these conditions the product has a stability of 3 months from dispatch date; special versions and dark colors may have a shorter stability. It has a flash point of >21°C, is flammable, and should be kept away from naked flames. A Material Safety Data Sheet is available on request, and the test methods (TM) referenced in the specification table above are available on request.
Storage Guidelines
Store this gelcoat indoors in its original, unopened, and undamaged packaging, in a dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is reduced at higher temperatures, and the properties of the resin may change during storage. Because the shelf life of styrene-containing unsaturated polyesters is significantly reduced when exposed to light, the product should be stored in the dark, in 100% light-tight containers only.
Applications in FRP and Composite Manufacturing
This grade is applied by hand lay-up, spray-up, brush, and roller in FRP boat building, petrol station equipment, building and construction components, and transport applications where fire-performance characteristics are part of the specification. Composite manufacturers evaluating flame retardant gelcoats can reference process and testing guidance from standards bodies such as the ASTM D20 Committee on Plastics alongside the DIN 5510 and other project-specific fire classification requirements. Because gelcoat performance depends on the resin system it is paired with and the catalyst dosage used, it is commonly specified together with other resin products such as unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester systems used in the same laminate.
Sourcing and Supply
Chemicalsstore.com provides supply chain resource support for this gelcoat and other recommended international brand products to overseas composite material buyers, FRP factories, boat builders, and sourcing managers. Buyers evaluating Neogel A400TV-F-9113 for a new specification are encouraged to request the full technical data sheet and Material Safety Data Sheet before finalizing an order.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Neogel A400TV-F-9113 used for?
It is an ISO-NPG non-halogen flame retardant gelcoat formulated for boats, petrol stations, building industry, and transport applications where flame-retardancy and low smoke density are required alongside standard gelcoat weather ability and mechanical properties.
What is the difference between the spray and brush types?
The spray type has a viscosity of 50000-80000 mPa.s (#4, rpm2) and a gel time of 8-16 minutes, while the brush type (Neogel A400TV-F-9113 H) has a viscosity of 10000-13000 mPa.s (#4, rpm20) and a gel time of 12-20 minutes at 25°C.
What fire classification does Neogel A400TV-F-9113 achieve?
Per DIN 5510, Part 2 (Draft), with the FRP combined with Palatal S320T-954AT, it achieves an Inflammability class of S4, a Smoke Development Class of SR2, and a Class of the capacity of forming drops of ST2.
What catalyst and film thickness are recommended?
Optimum performance is achieved at 18°C to 25°C, curing with a recommended MEKP 50% solution at 1.0-2.5%, and applying a film thickness of 600-800g/m².
