Neogel® 8373-T-9903

Neogel® 8373-T-9903 is an air-drying gelcoat developed for the repair process of FRP products, offering easy application and color consistency with the corresponding base gelcoat.

Benefits

Neogel® 8373-T-9903 is an air-drying, pre-accelerated thixotropic gelcoat purpose-built for the repair process of FRP products. It delivers the same overall performance as its corresponding base production gelcoat: easy application, good air release and sanding properties, color consistency with the production gelcoat, and reliable aging and water resistance.

Applications

Neogel® 8373-T-9903 is suitable for the repair process of FRP products and can also be applied directly by external spraying. In practical use, it is generally used together with the corresponding base gelcoat product. It is available in a wide range of colors for the following processes:
• Spray application
• Hand lay-up application
When spray equipment is used, we recommend operating under the following conditions:
• Compressed-air spray guns: nozzle diameter 1.5-2.5 mm, spraying pressure 4-5 atm
• Airless spray guns: recommended nozzle sizes 18/40-21/40
For best performance, we recommend the following application conditions:
• Gelcoat application temperature: 18°C to 25°C
• Use a 50% MEKP* hardener solution, dosage 1%-2%
• Coating thickness: not less than 0.3-0.5 mm
*Butanox M50 (Akzo Nobel)

Neogel 8373-T-9903 Selection Guide

Neogel® 8373-T-9903 is the air-drying repair grade for boatyards, workshops and FRP fabricators that need to touch up or patch cured gelcoat surfaces. Choose spray application for larger repair areas and color-matched panels, or hand lay-up for small patch repairs and touch-ups. Since curing performance and color match are calibrated to the corresponding base gelcoat, always pair Neogel® 8373-T-9903 with its matching production grade, such as Neogel® 8373-W-9124 or Neogel® 8373-W-9512, for a consistent finish. Packaging and Shipping

Neogel 8373-T-9903 is supplied in 22 kg drums, manufactured by Aliancys (formerly DSM Composite Resins) at the same Nanjing production base as our other Neogel® gelcoat grades. Store the product in its original unopened packaging at a temperature not higher than 20°C, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources; under these conditions it has a stable storage period of three months from the date of dispatch. The product has a flash point >21°C and is flammable, so it should be kept away from open flames during storage and use. We ship globally by sea and air freight, with COA and MSDS provided for every shipment. Contact us for current lead times and packaging options.

Neogel 8373-T-9903 Repair Compatibility

Because Neogel 8373-T-9903 shares its resin chemistry with the corresponding base gelcoat, repaired areas cure and weather in line with the surrounding original surface rather than standing out as a mismatched patch. This makes it well suited for boat hull touch-ups, sanitary ware and cultured marble repair, and general FRP panel rework where color and gloss consistency matter. Fabricators typically keep a small stock of the air-drying grade alongside their production gelcoat so that warranty repairs and field service work can be completed without waiting on a special order.
