Generally speaking, Desmodur®E 15 has good compatibility with esterssuch as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and 1-methoxypropylacetate-2 and with aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, xylene and Solvesso® 100. However, the solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability.Alcohols cannot be used because they react with Desmodur® E 15.Only PU grade solvents should be used (< 0.05 % water). The solvent shouldnot contain reactive groups.Prolonged storage of a solution with low binder content may result in turbidityand sedimentation.
Desmodur® E 15 can be combined with a suitable hardener to formulate highly reactive two-component systems which yield highly flexible highbuild coatings, e. g. for use as crackbridging coatings on concrete surfaces. Combination with latent hardener (bisoxazolidine) produces highly flexible one-component systems, e. g. for coating flat roofs.
