Special Features and Benefits
BYK-P 9920 was specially developed for use in fiber-reinforced plastics. The additive improves the wetting of glass or carbon fibers which results in less air entrapment and porosity. The additive avoids dry spots and reduces the scrap rate. Because of the high content of non-volatile matter, it is particularly suitable for closed mold processes.The epoxy-functional groups contained in the additive enable embedding into the matrix.
Recommended Levels
0.5-3 % additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
The additive can be added at any time.
