HARDLEN® CY-9124P by Toyobo is an adhesion promoter for polyolefin. This additive displays good adhesion to polypropylene, TPO, PP/EPDM, EPDM and metal substrates without some physical and chemical pre-treatments such as framing treatment. HARDLEN® CY-9124P possesses excellent resistance against water, humidity and gasoline after top-coating. It is easily soluble in toluene, hydrocarbons and cyclic hydrocarbons. It dissolves easily in non-aroma solvents such as methyl-cyclohexane or ester mixture.

After dilution, the solution can be directly spray-applied onto the PP substrate. Following baking, a topcoat is applied. When blended with other resins to formulate a primer or basecoat, compatibility with the resin system must be taken into consideration.
